How to make a pineapple cake
The pineapple cake is one of the most popular in Venezuela and delicious by the variety of flavors that form. Pineapple is one of the fruits of the winter season. Therefore, it is one of the most served desserts during December and, above all, the Christmas holidays. However, we can prepare it at any time of the year and enjoy all the benefits. This tropical fruit brings us, among which its high content of vitamin C and diuretic properties stand out. Keep reading this article and discover how to make a pineapple cake.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of flour
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 200 g of butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 8 eggs
- 1 can of pineapple slices in syrup
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- Cranes (optional)
- For the caramel: 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 of water
Follow these steps to make a pineapple cake
The first thing we are going to do is the pineapple cake caramel . It is very simple. You simply have to follow the steps of this caramel recipe but with the amounts specified in the ingredients section. Once done, distribute it throughout the cake pan and place the pineapple slices in syrup for decoration. If you wish, you can make your pineapple in syrup . To make it even better, you can put red cherries in the center of the slices. Reserve the pan with the caramel and pineapple for later. Preheat the oven 180ºC.
Now we start with the cake dough. To do this, start mixing the butter with the sugar until you get a cream. It will be much easier for you to integrate these ingredients. If you remove the butter from the refrigerator a few minutes before starting so that it reaches room temperature. Then, separate the whites from the yolks of the eggs.
Add the yolks to the butter and sugar mixture and continue beating until integrated. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside. Add the milk and pineapple juice to the mixture and continue beating. To continue with the pineapple cake dough, gradually add the previously sifted flour together with the yeast and stirring constantly. The ideal is to use wheat flour but if you want to make this tart suitable for celiacs you can adapt all the ingredients.
Once this is done, it is time to incorporate the egg whites until stiff with enveloping movements to make the cake more fluffy. As an optional ingredient, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla essence. When you have all the ingredients well integrated, pour the mixture into the mold, over the caramel and the pineapple slices, and put it in the oven.
You must bake the pineapple cake for half an hour at 180ºC and, after this time, reduce the temperature to 150ºC for one hour, hour and a half. Before removing the cake from the oven, verify that it is indeed well made inside by pricking it with a toothpick. Once finished, let it sit for an hour before unmolding it and serving. And ready! You already have your pineapple cake made.
